Career Guidance Session for B.Pharm Students

A career guidance session was conducted by Dr. Sapna Shrikumar (Principal, Ahalia School of Pharmacy ) on 10/6/25 for the 6th and 7th-semester B.Pharm students to enlighten them about various career paths available after completing B.Pharm and preparing them for professional success.

The session commenced with an informative presentation highlighting the numerous career options available post-B.Pharm including:

  • Higher studies (M.Pharm, MBA, Pharm.D, abroad opportunities)
  • Industrial roles (QA/QC, Production, R\&D, Regulatory Affairs)
  • Clinical and hospital pharmacy
  • Government and private sector job opportunities
  • Entrepreneurship and start-ups in pharmacy

Students were actively engaged and encouraged to ask questions. The presentation was followed by an interactive aptitude assessment, designed to help students identify their strengths and suitable career paths based on their interests and capabilities. The results of the test were discussed in brief, giving students insight into their potential domains.

Following the aptitude test, a mock interview session was conducted. Selected students participated in a demo interview, simulating a real-world job interview scenario. They were evaluated based on:

  • Body language and communication skills
  • Presentation and dressing etiquette
  • Confidence and clarity of thought
  • Subject knowledge and reasoning

Constructive feedback was provided to each participant, and common interview mistakes were addressed. Tips on resume writing, grooming, and professional behavior were also shared.

The session proved to be highly beneficial and was well-received by the students. Many students expressed that the aptitude test and mock interview helped them reflect on their career goals and prepare for future placements. The interactive nature of the session ensured that the students remained engaged and inquisitive throughout.

The career guidance session was a valuable initiative to guide students toward making informed career choices. It also served as a platform for students to develop self-awareness, boost confidence, and prepare for upcoming placement opportunities.
