The NSS Unit of Ahalia School of Pharmacy observed World No Tobacco Day with a series of awareness activities aimed at educating the public. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sapna Shrikumar, Principal, Ahalia School of Pharmacy, in the college premises.
The release of awareness pamphlets by Mr. N. Krishnadas, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Kozhinjampara was carried out. The pamphlets contained vital information on the dangers of smoking and chewing tobacco, as well as the long-term health risks associated with its use.
NSS volunteers actively participated in the distribution of pamphlets to the public at key locations, including the Kozhinjampara bus stand and the Government Hospital premises. Their enthusiastic involvement played a significant role in reaching out to a large number of people, spreading awareness about the ill effects of tobacco consumption, and encouraging healthier lifestyle choices.
The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Samuel Thavamani, Professor and Head of Department, and Mr. Sajin K. A., NSS Programme Officer, and coordinator of the event. The observation of Anti-Tobacco Day reaffirmed the institution’s commitment towards community health.
