One-day Career Guidance Training and Counseling Program

A one-day Career Guidance Training and Counseling Program was successfully organized by the ASP Placement Cell in collaboration with IPA-Student Forum on 21st August 2025 at ASP seminar hall. The event was aimed at equipping pharmacy students with insights and direction for building a successful professional career, both in India and abroad.

The program commenced with a warm welcome speech delivered by Ms. Kanaka V S, Placement Coordinator, who set the tone for the day.

This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Sapna Shrikumar, Principal, ASP, who emphasized the role of institutions in nurturing and guiding students toward their career goals.

Ms. Jayasri Mani, Branch Head, AECC, Coimbatore, who delivered the Inaugural Address, highlighting global opportunities for pharmacy graduates and encouraging students to be proactive in exploring international education options.

The inaugural session concluded with Vote of Thanks by Ms. Anjana K S, Placement Cell Member, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, and student participants.

Technical Sessions:

The morning technical session was conducted by Dr. Deepu S, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics, who spoke on the topic:
“Sharpening the Focus: Building Skills and Vision for a Successful Pharmacy Career.”
He provided insights into essential skills, academic excellence, and the importance of career vision and self-development in shaping a successful pharmacist.

The second session was taken by Dr. Sapna Shrikumar on the topic:
“Get Up and Get It: Get Ready to Reach Your Career Goal.”
This motivational session encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones, plan effectively, and take determined steps toward their career aspirations.

Ms. Jayasri Mani from AECC elaborated on the various career and higher education opportunities abroad, particularly in countries such as the UK, Australia, and Ireland. Her session provided clarity on eligibility, application procedures, and the benefits of pursuing education overseas.

Following her presentation, a Q&A session was conducted by Mr. Abdul Razaack Azarudeen, Business Executive, AECC, Coimbatore, during which students actively engaged and cleared their doubts regarding overseas education, scholarships, and visa processes.

Interactive Activities

To engage the students further, the AECC team organized an interactive quiz session based on the day’s topics. Winners were gifted exciting prizes, which added an element of enthusiasm and competitive spirit among the participants.

As a token of appreciation and love, Ms. Jayasri Mani was honored with a memento by the organizing team.

Program outcomes:

The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 80 students from the 4th and 6th semesters. The sessions were highly informative, interactive, and motivational, leaving the students with a clearer understanding of the career paths available to them in the field of pharmacy.
