One-Day National Workshop on “Mastering Grants and Publications: From Fundamentals to AI Tools”.

Ahalia School of Pharmacy, organized a One-day National Workshop titled Mastering Grants and Publications: From Fundamentals to AI Tools on  1st August 2025, sponsored by Canara Bank, Kozhipara, and Ahuja Books. The event took place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at  Ahalia Diabetes Hospital, Auditorium, located in  Ahalia Health Heritage & Knowledge Village, campus.

This workshop was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Rajasree R.S, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, KUHS, Member Senate (Ex officio) & Academic Council. Dr. Sapna Shrikumar,Principal, Ahalia School of Pharmacy, delivered the welcome address, and Dr. Krishna Kumar Kishor, Executive Director, Ahalia Health Heritage & Knowledge Village, campus, graced the function with a highly inspiring speech.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Dr. B Samuel Thavamani, HOD and Professor, Ahalia School of Pharmacy, read out the research achievements of students.

  • Ms. Kinchal Kesav S, a student of Ahalia School of Pharmacy, was appreciated during the inaugural function for securing NIPER-JEE: AIR 385. She is selected under merit in NIPER -Hyderabad for M.Pharm.
  • Ms.Vaishnavi R and Ms.Amrita S, Seventh-semester BPharm students who received the KUHS UG-level Research Appreciation Award 2024 with momento.

204 participants from a wide spectrum of health care, such as Ayurveda, Dentistry, Nursing, and Pharmacy, academicians, undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and researchers from 18 colleges in and outside of Kerala actively took part in the workshop.

The Resource persons were Dr.K.Gowthamarajan, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, and Dr.Kari V V Satyanarayana Reddy, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, who delivered the talks on the topics  Funding Agencies for Research proposals and AI Publications respectively.The workshop had sessions of interaction between eminent faculty members, UG & PG Students.This session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Deepu.S, HOD and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, Ahalia School of Pharmacy.

A total of 204 participants attended the workshop, comprising 165 students and 39 faculty members.

The Valedictory Function of the event was conducted with great enthusiasm and participation from faculty, students, and distinguished guests. The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Principal, Dr. Sapna Shrikumar, who extended her heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries and delegates. Then, interactive sessions were held between the invited delegates: Prof. Raju Siva from Ethiopia University, Mr.Rakesh, Associate Professor, West fort college of Pharmacy, Mr.Babin, Associate Professor, Dr.Moopens college of Pharmacy, Wayanad, Dr.Shamna,Assistant Professor, Govt.Medical College Of pharmacy, Kottayam, Dr. Sapna Shrikumar, Principal, Ahalia School of Pharmacy,  Dr.Kari V V Satyanarayana Reddy, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, and esteemed delegates from Nehru College of Pharmacy and Nirmala College of Pharmacy.

The workshop was beneficial and instrumental in empowering educators, researchers, and postgraduate students of professional courses. Development in research methodology from fundamentals to research grant with integration of AI tools were delivered smoothly.  

The function concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. A Renjith Alex, HOD and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Ahalia School of Pharmacy. He expressed sincere appreciation to all the dignitaries, faculty, organizers, and volunteers for their unwavering support and contribution to the successful conduct of the event. Special thanks were extended to the Speakers for sharing their valuable insights, and to the Principal, Dr. Sapna Shrikumar, for her constant encouragement and leadership. The principal informed that “This event has reached this magnitude only due to the contributions and dedication of my colleagues who are the tireless Organizing members of today’s events.”She extended a Gratitude to a warm welcome to all organizing committee our dearest student volunteers who were here till late at night and carrying out the minute works with grace. She also thanked Mr.Prasanth Kesavan, College administrator, Office staffs Rahul, Aneesha, Preethi, Shanthi, Dr. Suresh, Medical Representative, ADH,  Media and news- Mr. Nissar for hard work, Sound and Light, Photographer, Graphics team, Shanmuga Arts, who have all contributed in this event.

The Valedictory Function marked a fitting end to the event, leaving all participants enriched with new knowledge, meaningful connections, and memorable experiences.The function ended at 4.00 PM with the National Anthem.
