A One-Day National Seminar on “Empowering Innovative Approaches in Green Chemistry for
Sustainable Phytopharmaceutical Development” was organized by the Department of
Pharmacognosy at JKK Sampoorani Ammal College of Pharmacy, Erode, on 5 February 2026. The
seminar focused on sustainable and eco-friendly approaches in phytopharmaceutical development.
Dr. Sapna Shrikumar, Principal, Ahalia School of Pharmacy, served as the resource person and
delivered a talk on “Exploring the Future of Herbal Medicines: Novel Drug Delivery Systems for
Targeted Delivery.”
A total of 9 students and 3 faculty members from Ahalia School of Pharmacy participated in the
seminar. Faculty members Ms. Neenu Anna Thomas and Ms. Ranitha R presented their research
works. Student presentations were delivered by Shanoop Z, Abhina Soman, Athira A. K., and
Safvana P. Among them, Shanoop Z, Eighth Semester student, secured Third Prize in the poster
presentation competition.
The seminar provided valuable insights into green chemistry, sustainable phytopharmaceutical
development, and current research trends in herbal medicine.
