The students of Ahalia School of Pharmacy conducted a hospital visit as part of the
Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Reporting Awareness Programme on 12th November
2025 at Ahalia Diabetes Hospital. The programme aimed to create awareness among
healthcare professionals about the importance of ADR reporting and to promote
pharmacovigilance for enhancing patient safety. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Sini T.
Inasu and Ms. Anupriya Thomas, Associate Professors, with the participation of five
pharmacy students.
During the visit, the team interacted with specialists from various departments, including
Orthopaedics, Nephrology, General Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, and the Resident
Medical Officer. The discussions emphasized the significance of timely and accurate ADR
reporting in improving therapeutic outcomes and ensuring patient safety. Informational
pamphlets on ADR reporting were distributed to healthcare professionals to encourage active
participation in pharmacovigilance activities.
The programme provided valuable practical exposure to hospital-based pharmacovigilance
and strengthened the students’ understanding of ADR monitoring while reinforcing the
importance of collaborative efforts in promoting medication safety and quality patient care.
