NSS Unit of Ahalia School of Pharmacy in association with District Vector Born Disease
Control Board,DMO Health,Palakkad organized a Dengue Awareness Programme in Puthuparyaram
grama panchayath on 11.06.2026 .The program was initiated by respected Principal Dr.Sapna Shrikumar.
An inaugural function held in Primary Health Centre,Puthupariyaram.Mr.Sajan,District Vector Born
Disease Control Officer,Palakkad gave an informative talk regarding the preventive measures for
controlling outbreak and spreading of Dengue fever.Mr.Prici,Health Inspector explained the
process and methods to be followed during Dengue survey in houses.Mr.Sasankan teamed up the
students and gave an awareness class.Ms.Anjana.K.S,NSS Programme Officer of Ahalia School
of Pharmacy explained the importance of NSS Students involvement in social services along
with precautions to be taken. As a token of gratitude,Ms.Anjana.K.S presented memetos to
Mr.Sajan,District Vector Born Disease Control Officer and Dr.Shinoj.P.R,Medical Officer,Family
Health Centre,Puthupariyaram.38 students, were grouped into four teams and surveyed around
140 houses,identifying and destructing the sources of dengue along with awarness and pamphlet
distribution.Each team had five NSS volunteers,one Asha worker , a health staff and NSS
members of Ahalia School of Pharmacy,Ms.Anjana.K.S and Ms.Sapna Sivanthie.After
survey,we gave an dengue awareness class to the students of CBKM School,Puthupariyaram.
