The Pharmacy Practice Forum of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Kerala
State Branch organized a National Webinar on 1 October 2023 titled “Medication
Therapy Management (MTM) in Centralized Retail Pharmacy.” The webinar focused on
the principles and practice of Medication Therapy Management in retail pharmacy settings,
emphasizing the pharmacist’s role in optimizing medication use, improving patient safety, and
enhancing therapeutic outcomes. The session highlighted the implementation of MTM
services in centralized retail pharmacies, including medication review, patient counseling,
identification of drug-related problems, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Participants gained valuable insights into contemporary pharmacy practice and the expanding
role of pharmacists in delivering patient-centered pharmaceutical care.
